Yakult, a global company with roots in Japan
Yakult is a Japanese company known for its iconic probiotic milk beverage, which promotes gut health through the beneficial bacteria strain L. casei Shirota. The product was developed in 1935 by scientist Dr. Minoru Shirota who founded the company in 1955. Yakult has expanded globally, offering a range of products that contribute to the health and happiness of people around the world. In 1994 the first products were produced in the Netherlands for the European market.
